Imbolc Solo Rite
Materials: 1 white candle
Cast the circle, invoke elements, and Gods.
Stare at the candle, envision it burning brightly, and say these words:
"Great Mother, mistress of winter, in your cloak of white
Mighty Horned One, we call your Solar Power
Bring back the warmth and sunshine of your Summer,
With your magick, wisdom and warmth
May the crops, gardens and minds grow strong
Guide us through the year with your ancient love."
Light the white candle.
"So Mote It Be."
Cakes and ale, thank the Gods and the elements, and close the circle.
Spring Equinox Solo Rite
Materials: flowers or plant on altar or within circle, preferably flowery incense.
Cast the circle, invoke elements, and Gods.
Pick up the flowers or plant, feel the essence of the plant, and breathe these words to the plant:
"Great Mother Earth, power of life
Mighty Horned God of the Forest
I call to you on this day
When the balance of life is equal
When summer is soon to come
This season, let me grow in strength
With the crops and plants"
Breathe deeply and imagine yourself the plant, growing stronger with each touch of the sun, growing wiser with each draught of water, and minerals. Feel oneness with this plant, and all the flowers, grasses, trees and all life.
"Let me see the magick in the wild places
and the beauty in a single tree
Remind me that kindness is your will
And beauty is your life.
So mote it be"
Cakes and ale, thank the Gods and the elements, and close the circle.

"Great Lady, Mighty Lord
I thank you for your wonderful Spring Blessings
Today, let me show my thanks
By giving to those who have none"
Put flowers back on altar, and gather together the charity items. Bless them as follows:
"May the Lord and Lady, and the powers of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water bless this (piece of clothes, food, etc.) and (make it warm., let it bring good health, etc.)"
After the blessings are complete, place the items in the bag, and seal it.

And charity in their minds
So mote it be"

Lord of Wisdom, Lord of the Land:
Hear my words this day, this wonderful day of the sun.
Bless me, my family, and my friends and keep us safe.
We give thanks to you, for your abundance of light
That has given us such wonderful food/flowers"

"Goddess and Horned God of the sacred plain, and wooded field, hear my words, my prayer, my rite. I give thanks for the abundance of the harvest. With love and trust we have cultured the Earth and her resources. I pray that we( the human race) will learn compassion, and love, and only use that which we need to survive. I pray that the needless suffering, and the weakening of the Earth will stop. I pray for the healing of the Earth, and for the forgiving of her people. "
Pick up the cakes and pass them around, saying the following:
" I have made these cakes in your honor. We will keep your message with us, as we take these cakes in, and each commit to make the world a better place"
Cakes and ale, thank the Gods and the elements, and close the circle.
I've cast the circle, born again
From smoke and astral mist
Purified with salt and water
By the smoke of incense kissed
I've called the Quarters
Earth, Water, Air and Fire
And called the Lord and Lady
To join me in this, my heart's desire
From all around, for all to see
I cast this magic, and this rite
To heal, and gladden the heart
With harm to none as is right
In my magick and in my life
May Lord and Lady Guide me
In the dark and in the light
May the Lord and Lady protect me
With harm to none, so mote it be.
Hymn for the Ailing
Chorus: (sung in the background during the verses and voice parts)
Lady of feeling ( or "Mother of feeling")
Lady of breath
Lady of living
Lady of death
Spoken in whisper:
I pray to you, Great Goddess
Cast your healing power
Around and within me
From your embrace guide my words
Heal my body and console my spirit
Spoken in a loud, strong voice:
Great Mother, Warrior of Wisdom
Keeper of magicks and healing
I do entreat thee, hear me now :
Lady cast your healing cloak around me
Protect me in this life
Heal me, comfort me, surround me
Take away this wicked strife
Mother whisper your sweet words
Keep my mind on you
Remind me that in the end
I will always be with you...
Beltane Wedding Song
Chorus:
Ring, ring, ring the bells
We've a handfasting soon to come
Ring, ring, ring your bells
Be merry and gleesome
May the Goddess bless this couple
Here on Her sacred Earth
And may She bless their children
Who have not yet been birthed
May the Horned One bless this couple
Here in His sacred glade
And may be bless an consecrate
The promises they've made
Chorus 2:
Ring your bells, rejoice and love
These two shall be made one
As our ancestors did long ago
As will our future children
Chorus
Bring your gifts and blessings too
Or maybe just some ale
With mutual love and respect
This marriage will not fail
Chorus 2
The time has come; Please take a seat
We've plenty here to spare
So listen up and hunker down
We're soon to wed this pair!
Song of Life
Chorus:
It's the song of life we're singing
The song of Mother Earth
A song of life and living
A song of death and birth
The song of life we'll sing
As long as life is here
We'll sing with Mother Earth's blessings
With no hate and no fear
So spread life all around you
With fish tanks, plants or pets
And see the life all around you
Be it sandy, dry or wet
Old or New?
What power does the ancient have that the new does not?
How does time purify the magick that you've got?
Your daily rite, your sabbat song
Who's to say what's right or wrong?
To use the old and spurn the new
May not be the right path for you
So write your myths and write your songs
And let no one say what's right or wrong
Sacred Space
This is the place where the good witches gather
To eat cakes and drink ale
This is where the power gathers
Here we cost spells that ne'er fail
Mother bless this sacred ground
Within this sacred space
And may there be only good in our hearts
And peace for the human race
Father bless this sacred ground
IN love and in peace
And help us each to know ourselves
And for our goals, reach
This circle now is sacred ground
As the Earth on which I stand
And may our love flow through the Air
And through the very land
Death March
Sing slow and mournfully.
A walk of death with torches of Fire
Leading to a waiting pyre
The children and women are crying their tears
The men they act strong, with Watery eyes
The people are quiet, their voices hushed
Watching the death card as it is pushed
Fearful and shaking, step back in the crowd
And as the death cart passes have your head bowed
Chorus:
Close now the windows, there's death in the Air
Speak now in hushed tones of our fear
The ravens are calling, their meal seems set
The Fire is burning--our friends they won't get
Justice Rite (aka. Hex removal)
Hail Mighty goddess of magick
Hail Mother Goddess of Truth
I invoke the circle of light
To rotect me and hide me from sight
Hail Lady of Justice; Lady of sight
Lend your ear unto my rite
I invoke now the law of three
As I will so mote it be
I invoke a mirror of light and fire
To send back the evil power
To send back a bad luck hex
and my life correct and fix
I invoke now the law of three
As I will, so mote it be
I thank you Goddess for your ear
And send you thanks that you may hear
Hail mother, Lady of sight
With thanks to you I close this rite
I feel the power
(Heartbeat in background)
I...feel...
The power of the Goddess
Flowing through my veins
the Power of the moon
As it wax and wanes
I...feel...
The power of the Horned God
Burning in my groin
The power of togetherness
The longing to be joined
I...feel...
the power of the circle
When I do my rite
The power of the elements
Bathed in sacred light
I...feel...
The power of my athame
As I move my hand
the power of the earth reborn
As on sacred Earth I stand
I...feel...
The power of this sacred day
Surround me in the breeze
the power of the winter
And of the coming freeze
I...feel...
the power of the harvest
As we sow and reap
The power of the plants we cut
And the food we keep
I...feel...
The power of the maiden
Full of wonder and life
the power of the daughter
Secure from pain and strife
I...feel...
the Power of the mother
Strong, and large with child
the power of the matron
At home and hearth, yet wild
I...feel...
the power of the old crone
Wrinkled wise, yet strong
the power of the grand ones
yearning to be young |
